During the last 4 years, UP Faculty of Pharmacy is the school of pharmacy in Cambodia which provides the most opportunities for pharmaceutical students to do researches and present their abstracts at the international conferences. In the first six months of the academic year 2018-2019, 42 UP pharmaceuti-cal students from year two to year five went abroad to present their research at a divers of research con-ferences in Thailand, Indonesia, Poland and the Republic of Korea. Within the next 5 years, Cambodia will be full of skillful and talented researchers that could bring the country innovative solutions to solve the emergence problems especially in the health-care system.
The increasing incidence of multi-drug resistant pathogenic bacteria, alongside viral and fungal human pathogens, supports the argument that skills in microbiology and infectious disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention are of growing global importance for health-care professionals, including pharmacists. As such, the role of pharmacists in health care is expanding, punctuating the need to enhance and improve Pharmacy education. One approach to develop a better education and skills for students is through the community project, so students could practice their knowledge and skills in realistic settings. Parasitology is one of the microbiology subjects designed for year-3 pharmaceutical students. The parasitology project was created in 2018 in order to expand students’ knowledge and practical skills related to parasitology in the community. This […]
Inside the classroom, we can read, listen, write and talk about different topics or see them on pictures where we are able to use our imagination; and only our imagination sets the limit. But in many subjects like pharmaceutical sciences, being in the actual place helps students understand what it’s like and to personally experience the subject through study tours. That is one reason why study tours are being more and more prevalent among students at UP. A study tour is an experience where students study outside as an alternative to traditional classroom-based learning. It is a great and effective way to learn specific subjects beyond textbooks and lectures, to visibly observe the practical work of pharmacists at different settings […]
