Project Sabai with University of Puthisastra

Initiated by a group of medical students from National University of Singapore (NUS), Project Sabai is an annual overseas community involvement, which strives to improve health, well-being and social welfare of the villagers and children in Cambodia. Project Sabai 2014 targeted villagers in three Don Bosco Schools – Teuk Thla, Toul Kork, and Phum Chreh, and Kampong Speu Province. It is a great honor that Project Sabai 2014 collaborated with University of Puthisastra to send our medical students to assist in translation during the project, which lasted from 11 to 18 December. Noticeably, during the 8-day mission, Project Sabai teams with Singaporean Doctors and UP students conducted health care education, population study and village clinics in the targeted places. Interestingly, our medical students who participated in the projects were very excited because what they had done was not only the translation, but also the assistance to Singaporean doctors in consulting with the villagers about their health, which enabled them to learn a lot from the project. Moreover, they had a chance to make good relationship and connection with Singaporean Medical students. All in all, most of our students are happy and satisfied with this project, and they are willing to participate in the next mission.
