Clinical Simulation Instructor

I. Duties and Responsibilities:
The clinical simulation instructor is responsible for designing, facilitating and providing the clinical-simulation based education for the medical students. He/she is a key role to enhance the students’ clinical skill and experiences.
Key duties include:
- Implement and provide the simulation training according to the skills designed in the prehospital training
- Teach the clinical simulation practice to the medical students on the daily basis
- Liaise with the part-time clinical instructors in order to arrange the prehospital training for the medical students from year 2 to year 7.
- Support the development of the clinical skills, objective structural clinical examination (OSCE)
- Participate in the assessment of the students’ clinical competencies through simulation
- Participate in the preceptor training and clinical instructor training
- Manage the simulation rooms, resources and the inventory for the simulation training
- Ensure the proper maintenance of the simulation equipment and report to the deputy for the clinical training and simulation regarding the equipment malfunction.
- Collaborate with the academic faculty to integrate the simulation into the course
- Participate in the thesis work and research activities in the faculty
- Perform other tasked assigned by the Dean or Deputy Dean for Clinical Training and Postgraduate Education
II. Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Education:
- Holding a degree in medicine (MD) or a relevant health profession, recognized by MoH
- Holding degree in medical education is preferred
2. Experience/Knowledge
- At least 3 years of clinical practice experiences
- Experience in medical education or clinical teaching is highly desirable
- Knowledge of the medical education system in Cambodia
3. Skills/Competencies:
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication skill in English
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, students and external stakeholders
