Full-Time Midwifery Lecturer

I. Position Summary:
The Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at University of Puthisastra is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Full-Time Lecturer to join our Midwifery Department.
This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality, student-centered education that is grounded in current research and best practices. The successful candidate will also contribute to the design and delivery of innovative teaching, including online learning activities and assessments, with a strong commitment to enhancing student engagement, satisfaction, and academic support.
II. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teaching and Course Development
- Plan and deliver theory and practical courses in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MOH) curriculum guidelines.
- Develop and update course outlines to ensure alignment with curriculum objectives, integration with related subjects, and promotion of higher-level student learning.
- Teaching load: 21 hours per week.
- Ensure all teaching is student-centered, evidence-based, and pedagogically sound.
2. Clinical and Community Practicum Coordination
- Coordinate community-based and clinical practicum activities across the midwifery program, following the annual practicum schedule and MOH guidelines.
- Allocate students to practicum sites and ensure they receive regular clinical follow-up and monitoring.Allocate students to practicum sites and ensure they receive regular clinical follow-up and monitoring.
- Work closely with preceptors and healthcare facility staff to ensure students achieve a high level of clinical competency.
- Monitor practicum-related documentation and ensure compliance with internal student practice requirements (e.g., TP and related forms).
3. Academic and Administrative Duties
- Participate in examination processes, assessments, and academic activities
- Engage in departmental meetings, planning, and reporting as required by the Dean of Faculty or Deputy Dean of Midwifery.
- Monitor and support teaching activities of assigned lecturers, ensuring delivery of an evidence-based curriculum with clear documentation, teaching resources, and student feedback tools.
4. Professional Development and Research
- Build academic relationships with local and international institutions to enhance the capacity of the Midwifery Department and the university.
- Actively participate in midwifery research and contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning.
5. Institutional Engagement
- Participate in university-wide committees and activities as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by seeking and acting on feedback from students, peers, and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty and Deputy Dean of Midwifery Department, ensuring a high standard of communication and professionalism.
III. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Qualifications, skills & experience
1. Educational Background
- Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, or
- Bachelor of Nursing with Midwifery (3+1) or equivalent qualification.
2. Professional Experience
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in midwifery or nursing practice.
- Experience in teaching and/or serving as a preceptor
- Familiarity with the national Midwifery Curriculum of Cambodia.
3. Teaching and Learning Skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop teaching materials and deliver courses in both classroom and online formats.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and student-centered teaching.
4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships with students, colleagues, and clinical staff.
- Medium English language proficiency: reading, written, and spoken
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
5. Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable using digital platforms for teaching and communication.
