Last Monday, the UP community provided a warm welcome to the over 250 new Foundation Year students! H.E. Sok Puthyvut, Chairman and Prof. ChhemRethy, member of the UP Board of Trustees joined the welcome event. The 2nd Annual Big Launch and first ever University Orientation Course were designed to provide students with greetings from the UP Community, and understanding of the University’s expectations and policies, and opportunity to get to know seniors and fellow Foundation Year Students and an introduction to university student life. Workshops, English assessments, health assessments, dental checks, academic program orientations were led by UP students, staff and faculty. Students also had the opportunity to take their ID photos and receive University email accounts. Ten local business sponsors also supported the event. Over 60 students volunteered their time and over 30 staff were involved in the week-long events. Orientation and welcome events are important for students to Unlock their Potential and prepare for academic success at University. Thank you to all of those who showed their support and let’s look forward to a successful first year for ours newest UP students.
