Information Session about Chevening Scholarships

On Monday 20th October 2014, British Embassy in Phnom Penh in collaboration with University of Puthisastra (UP) hosted an information session about “Chevening Scholarships.” Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship program, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations. The program makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK. After a short introduction and opening session by a representative from the UK Embassy, another representative, who is the project coordinator, presented about the Chevening Scholarships information. She explained clearly about how many and what kind of Chevening scholarships provide to students and how students successfully apply for the scholarship. Moreover, a representative from the University of Warwick did the detail introduction about the courses and scholarships available in university and the way to apply for them. In the last 10 minutes of the session, many questions from the participants were welcomed, and the clear and satisfied responses were given by the representatives. All in all, we hope that our students have understood more clearly about the scholarships, and we strongly hope that our students will have a chance to be awarded by the Chevening Scholarships.
