Full Time Lecturer

I. Position Summary:

The Faculty of Medicine is seeking the dynamic candidates to fill the position of full-tine lecturer in Basic Health Sciences. The primary role is to deliver the high-quality education in Subject(s) the Basic Health Sciences. Along with Dean of Medicine, he/she will work closely with part-time lecturers in the related subjects in order to develop the competency-based medical education (CBME).

II. Duties and responsibilities:

Overall job description below outlines the primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Participate in course revision of the subjects in the basic health sciences to align with competency-based medical education
  • Develop innovative teaching materials and assessment methods to enhance student learning and experiences.
  • Deliver teaching sessions for at least 22 hours per week using modern Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) methods.
  • Coordinate closely with part-time lecturers and foundation year lecturers to enhance the quality of education in alignment with Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME).
  • Participate in validating examination content and report findings to the Dean.
  • Establish and oversee student study clubs.
  • Assist with internal exit examinations within the faculty.
  • Participate in faculty research activities and serve as a thesis supervisor, examiner, and/or chair of thesis defenses.
  • Participate in simulation-based teaching activities.
  • Promote student engagement in academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Participate in the development of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs within the faculty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Medicine.

III. Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Education:

  • Hold an MD degree or higher qualification.
  • Demonstrate strong English proficiency in reading, speaking, writing, and listening.
  • Serve as a full-time lecturer for Basic Health Sciences subjects, including Anatomy, Physiology, Immunology, Pharmacology, and related disciplines.

2. Experience:

  • Proven experience in teaching of subjects at the undergraduate
  • Strong passion in teaching and improving the medical education in Cambodia

3. Skills/Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Basic Health Sciences subjects, including Anatomy, Physiology, Immunology, Pharmacology, and related disciplines.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of modern medical education methodologies is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
