Laboratory Assistant

I. Duties and Responsibilities:
The overall job description below outlines the main areas of responsibilities of the Employee:

  • Assist prepare materials and supplies support PW course exam, Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) exam, IEE exam material and supplies preparation ready before the exam in lab room
  • Support the preparation of events such as UP Discovery, FHSB trainings, workshops, and other academic activities.
  • Support the stocking of laboratory supplies and materials for the UP Health Center to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
  • Maintain and monitor the inventory of FHSB laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Support the daily maintenance and preventive maintenance of FHSB laboratory machines and equipment.
  • Ensure laboratory rooms are clean and well-prepared for daily operations, examinations, and official visits.
  • Assist instructors during practical examinations and laboratory sessions.
  • Support FHSB marketing and outreach activities to promote laboratory programs.
  • Identify and report potential issues or operational problems within laboratory rooms.
  • Coordinate student volunteers and support extracurricular activities, including workshops, seminars, and training events.
  • Lead and coordinate student clerkship and internship placements with partner medical laboratories and hospitals.
  • Promptly report any laboratory incidents, accidents, or safety concerns during operations.
  • Work closely with lecturers to support students during practical classes and assist with laboratory teaching activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

II. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Education:

  • Associate Degree/Bachelor Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Sciences and/or any related fields.

2. Experience:

  • Fresh graduate.
  • Experience working in a laboratory or school setting is desirable.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural and scientific environment.

3. Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Positive attitude, professional behavior, and strong work ethics.
  • Patient and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Quick learner with the ability and willingness to adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
