  • Assessment and Evaluation

    The University has set standard assessment procedures to assess students' academic performance on each subject based on the following components:

    On-going assessment 40%
    • Quiz, homework, test
    • Assignment
    • Class participation
    • Others
    Mid-term Exam 20%
    Final Exam 40%
    Total Score 100%
  • Grading System

    Letter grades are used to show the academic standing of all students as follows:

    90% - 100% A 4.00 Outstanding
    80% - 89% B 3.00 Excellent
    70% - 79% C 2.00 Good
    60% - 69% D 1.00 Average
    00% - 59% F 0.00 Fail
  • Academic Policy
    • Foundation Year students will not advance to Year II if they fail any subject.
    • After foundation year, students who failed any subject can still advance to the next level. However, s/he must fulfill the failed credits before graduation exam.
    • There is no repeat exam, unless permitted in special cases by the university.
    • During the whole four-year program, students are allowed to suspend only two semesters for any reason approved by the university.
    • Students to be awarded a degree must fulfill required credits in a respective faculty.
  • Honors Program
    Leadership Program – UP offers an Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) to outstanding undergraduate students in Years II, III, and IV. This program, which includes a leadership seminar series, guest speakers, and company visits, aims to help develop the next generation of innovative leaders.

    To enter the program, students must:

    • Complete the application form
    • Provide at least one letter of reference from a current or former Professor/Lecturer,
    • Have minimum GPA of 3.0

3. Code of Conduct

All students, upon registration, must be familiar with and adhere to ALL UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS and VALUES (see Core Values on page 1).

  • Attendance Policy

    Class attendance is of prime importance for student’s learning; attendance is taken in all undergraduate courses. Students are expected to be present for all courses in which they enroll. Students are allowed to be absent only five times per course. Absence exceeding more than 5 times will require special permission from the university. Students who are absent more than five times will receive an incomplete grade for the course.

  • Guidelines for proper conduct on campus
    • Dress properly on campus.
    • Be in class on time.
    • Silence your phone during classes.
    • No harassment or gang activities on campus.
    • Do not smoke or gamble on campus.
    • Do not disturb other students during classes
    • Do not plagiarize or cheat.
  • Penalties for Misconduct

    Disruptive behaviors on campus will be punished by the Disciplinary Committee, according to the steps below:

    • Verbal warning.
    • Warning in written form to parents/ guardians.
    • Probation, suspension and/or expulsion.

4. Scholarships

All scholarship opportunities will be announced and open to all applicants at the school information desk.

5. International and Student Exchange Programs

In order to create international learning opportunities and promote cultural exchange, UP has established student exchange programs with universities in the U.S., Canada and France. For more details, please contact International Affairs

6. Clubs and Activities

In order to develop the full potential of its students, the University has promoted extracurricular activities which include Reading Club, Student Debate Club, Music / Dance Club, Sports Club and other activities which help develop a sense of individual responsibility, creativity, team competitiveness, and leadership among the students. Students are also encouraged to participate in community services, such as involving in environmental protection, or helping with civic beautification like cleaning up parks, water ways, the side of the roads, etc. For more details, please contact the Student Affairs or visit the UP website under club section.

7. Tuition and Fees

Tuition Fees can be paid as follows:

  • Pay per credit
  • Pay per semester
  • Pay per year

Tuition fees must be paid at the beginning of each semester. Students who register but fail to pay their fees on time will not be allowed to attend the courses.

Scholarship students who wish to take extra courses beyond the requirement have to pay for additional credits.

Note: Students are required to pay other fees such as: registration form, permission letter, certified letter, and academic transcripts (upon graduation, students will receive one copy of their academic transcripts for free).
